When and what reason caused you to take up writing? |
کی و چه عاملی باعث شد که به نویسندگی روی بیارین؟ |
|
I, because of …any way… having a life of hardship and
deprivation and not having mother and these kind of
problems (in-ā=in-hā), I basically grew up with stories. |
من به جهت ...به هر حال... زندگی سختی که داشتم و محرومیت و
نداشتن
مادر و این حرف‌ها و
اینا، اصلاً با قصّه‌ها بزرگ شدم. |

My grandmother and grandfather raised me with stories, |
مادربزرگم و پدربزرگم من رو با قصّه بزرگ می‌کردند، |
|
Apart from giving me something to eat, more than that there were stories
[to nourish me]in our life. |
گذشته از اینکه یک چیزی می‌دادند بخورم،
بیشتر تو (توی،درون)
زندگی
ما قصّه بود. |

At night, I would look at the sky (āsemun = āsemān) and my grandfather would
tell me a
story. |
شب‌ها من آسمون (آسمان)
رو نگاه می‌کردم و پدربزرگم برام
قصّه می‌گفت. |

Usually, the old man usually would fall asleep in the middle
of the story and I, I would make up the rest of the story
(ro = rā) on
my own and tell it. |
معمولاَ وسط‌های قصّه پیرمرد خوابش می‌برد و بقیهٔ قصّه
رو خودم می‌ساختم و می‌گفتم. |

This has become my habit, I mean, even now when I go to bed... |
این برای من عادت شده یعنی هنوز هم که
می‌خوابم... |

Bābā Nasrollahi, who has planted this cypress tree? |
بابا نصراللهی، این سرو [را] کی کاشته؟ |

Son, our forefathers. |
بابا، اجداد ما. |

Is it true that anyone who passes (rad beshavad = begozarad) under the tree goes crazy
(divune = divāne)? |
راست می‌گن هر کی از زیر درخت رد بشه دیوونه می‌شه؟

Bābā Rezā had passed under the tree... |
بابا رضا از زیر این درخت رد شد و..... |

Houshang, you talk too much! Let's get some sleep.
(What he said is unclear, possible variants: berim
bekhābim = bezār bekhābim = begir bekhāb). |
هوشنگ، چقدر حرف می‌زنی، بریم بخوابیم
