There [supposedly, reportedly] have been (Reported Speech) some works (acts) that when that person
[supposedly] does them … [supposedly] used to do these ... (bude, mikarde
are forms used for "reported speech" when quoting
2nd-hand
information, reported speech therefore, supposedly or
reportedly have been added to
the translation.) |
42 |
(if) his works were ridiculous, well they were ridiculous
that's it |
43 |
You that, exactly that, bring and show in the context, in
the context of your story then you look and see if it is
ridiculous |
44 |
this is it, I wanted my society, my care (he says "care" in
English but "concern" is what he meant, perhaps could have
used "tavajjoh" or "ahamiyat" in Persian) has been this, that
this society, to the way (in the way) I see, [I wanted to]
bring [it] out (= put it down, publish) |
|
45 |
In this … the coffeehouse owner is representative of one
class, the gendarme is representative of one class, the man
himself … ummmm … is one the one who they throw (him) into
the air also in the air too he is protesting and for no good
reason he is protesting for some reason, he too is one
representative of one …
- the poet himself too |
46 |
- they are all obvious (note
singular suffix -e for plural animates here) … perhaps the poor
kids (creatures, teflak-i with suffix -i gives the sense of
"the ones referred to already", "the ones you know about") |
47 |
…ummm … I have brought out (=formed, published) so that … I
wanted to bring out those who are inside my society |
48 |
So that it becomes something … and only (the 'ham' emphases
the 'vaqti') when I made
this film then I saw that ….maybe it is not possible that I bring
this out, I wrote the book from the exact film itself word
for word, I saw that that can't be possible either to bring
out (then) I did this. |
|
49 |
I have told you (before) of course, I took it to
Mr. Minovi,
I said Mr. Minovi this book you don't need to read yourself
either, don’t read (it), it is not important |
50 |
This book why do I take to Minovi … because the first time
when somebody had praised me, Farzād and Minovi had been when
in BBC I used to work |
|
51 |
BBC … mm Mr. Minovi was interested in my writing k k…kindness
he would do, very well (it was out of his kindness (that he
showed interest in my writing)) |
52 |
I said Sir, let this be here, this might be useful some
time, put this inside this (these) your books, fifty years
later twenty years later sometime it is possible some people come
(note singular verb miyād even though animate and
human plural subject) who says what a strange world was in the country which was
invariably in a mess and nobody (didn't) say anything but
perhaps somebody put his hand in [the sea of] these books (and
randomly) find this
book and say, hey! look there was a person who said these
nonsenses, he said rightly, (migofte, the form for
"reported speech" again to show he's supposedly quoting 3rd
party) the condition of his country
he wanted to show |
53 |
For this reason I wrote this
-but you this very book when they wanted after the
Revolution in English language publish you did not allow
-exactly for this very reason I did not allow
-why? |
54 |
– for this reason I don't want … to me …none of my business
that …look …I the lust that I become famous …ha ha hee hoo |
55 |
It is not in my work (not my business) … n n n ..I don't want
to …e e …it is not now you (can) take it as my defect
then |
56 |
I don't care about these words (matters) any more when this book he
wanted to publish I saw no reason it has at all, no reason
it has this book he publishes |
57 |
Previously surely the revolution had happened
-the revolution had happened, it is pretty obvious, that
thing that now … even after the revolution … last … sentence
… [just] read the last sentence of this book! |
58 |
The guy is looking from a distance, is getting far from that
site of disaster which is destroyed those machines and
stuff, is looking from a distance and sees that the
bulldozers are coming clearing (note the present progressive
tense) the area |
|
59 |
But he tells himself that yes he sees that in the sun they
are shining the blades of the bulldozer are shining but he
knows that if he goes closer to take a look these blades are
slivers of glass they are cracked they are dirty this is it |
60 |
Never does a revolution change into an [amount] of honed
knives cleaned (knives) … ho ho I want to cut … no they hit
and it is finished forever, after that |
|
61 |
the issue after it is this that the generation who wants to
build in place of that thing which is destroyed, it (=the
generation) should be behind it a clean/pure thought, (if) there
is (one) it moves forward (if) there is not it does not move
forward this is it |
62 |
Pure thought, therefore a summary and a gist from this
conversation if we want to gain it is that very thing that
Mr. Golestān since that time when with pen and then with
camera said and expressed it existed, that camera (is) in
fact symbolic, (it) is that very camera that
Kāveh Golestān
(his son) on his shoulder was (in month of) Farvardin in year
(13)82 when in
the north of Iraq he on the mine went (stepped on the
landmine). |
