bani ādam a'azā-ye yek paykar-and |
بنی آدم اعضای یک پیکرند |
|
Children of Adam are members of one body, |
|
ke dar āfarinesh ze yek gawhar-and |
که در آفرینش ز یک گوهرند |
|
Who in Creation are of one essence. |
|

cho ozv-i be dard āvarad ruzgār |
چو عضوی به درد آورد روزگار |
|
If hard fortune should bring an organ to pain, |
|
degar ozv-hā rā namānad qarār |
دگر عضوها را نماند قرار |
|
The other members do not remain calm. |
|
|
|

to kaz mehnat-e digar-ān bi-gham-i |
تو کز محنت دیگران بیغمی |
|
You, who of misery of others, are without sorrow, |
|
nashāyad ke nām-at nahand ādami |
نشاید که نامت نهند آدمی |
|
It is not proper, they should call you Human. |
