Another initial `ayn, this time followed by a long /ā/. The `ayn is difficult for native speakers of Persian to hear and pronounce and normally does not occur in Persian.  On this website, `ayn is transcribed by this character: ` to distinguish it from glottal stop: '
2b Persian Written/Formal ājez

عاجز

 

Initial `ayn + /ā/ almost always written incorrectly with alef by the beginners as اجز  Be mindful of this and you won't have this problem!
