Here are some possible grammar / vocab topics to cover in the exercises
Easy
1. عشق والای تو ، رویای من. /`eshq-e vālā-ye to/ - /royā-ye man/.Writing Convention: Ezāfe with a word-final alef: /-ā-ye/. In this case, the /-e/ is written as a normal letter Ye, ی and is also pronounced /ye/. Here are some more examples of how to attach the ezāfe /-e/ to a word ending in alef /ā/.
2. بزیر پا "bezir" may seem unfamiliar to you the first time you see it but it's the same thing as به زیر. This collocation is often written as one word, in which case, the final, unpronounced letter He of /be(h)/ gets deleted. This happens a lot with the writing of /be/ and you can see a few examples here of /be/ joined to the following word. /zir/, among other usages, is a preposition meaning 'under', 'below'. Sometimes it is combined with the preposition /be/ 'to', 'in', 'at'. With or without /be/ is often just a matter of style and /zir/ and /be-zir/ are often interchangeable. Sometimes, the additional /be/ does not add much to the meaning. Other times, it adds some directionality (downwards) or turns the expression into an adverb (downwardly). When the preposition /be/ is combined with /zir/ 'under', this locution is written in a number of ways: /be zir/ (two separate words) :: /be-zir/ one word :: /be-zir/ two words combined with the nim-fāsele or zwnj. (Sometimes, due to technical glitches, the zwnj is not displayed properly. Be aware of this common problem.)
3. بهر تو / بهر عشق. /bahr-e/, i.e., /bahr/ + ezāfe, is a very high literary equivalent of /barā-ye/ and means 'for', 'for the sake of'. Here are some more sentences with bahr-e as a synonym of barā-ye. As you can see in the examples, if you use /bahr-e/ instead of the ordinary /barā-ye/ in everyday chatting with your friends, they will understand you are making a joke and trying to sound very formal!
4. آن دلی که. /ān del-i ke/ - 'that heart which...' Relative, subordinate clause. This an example of a demonstrative adjective /ān/ + noun (mard) + relative -i + ke.
Here are some more such examples of relative clauses with the demonstrative adjective ān and here are some more with the demonstrative adjective /in/.
5. گلزار, /gol-zār/, 'place full of flowers'. (Don't confuse that with /gel-zār/, place full of mud, bog, marsh!) The suffix /-zār/ meaning "place filled with lots of". Here are some examples of -zār.
6. گلزار سبزت. /gol-zār-e sabz-at/, 'your greet garden/. دامان پاکت, /dāmān-e pāk-at/, your clean skirt. Noun + Adjective Clause followed by possessive pronoun suffix for "you". The personal suffix, 2nd person singular, "your" is usually pronounced /-at/ in written/formal style and /-et/ in spoken/colloquial style. Here are some more examples of Noun + Ezāfe + Adjective + Personal Suffix 'you' in written style, -at and spoken style, -et.
7. هستیم, hasti-(y)-am, 'my existence'. Noun ending in -i followed by personal suffix, 1st person singular. Here are some more examples in written style and in spoken style.
