  The Pluck Method to Listening Comprehension (phrases plucked)

 Listen to the reading of a long article  from Wikipedia. Basically understood it but not sure how much you retained? To find out, let's review each paragraph.
 

1. First just Part 1:  Listen: or  Download all of Part 1. Listen to it until you know it well. To retain the plucked phrases requires intense concentration. Now we'll take Part 1 sentence-by-sentence. The following phrases have been plucked from the sentences in Part 1 and replaced with  a pluck:
