The Death of "Nāzli" -- Flashcards -- English to Persian

"Nāzli" was a name used by Shāmlu to foil censors. The poem is a eulogy to the Armenian-Iranian Vārtān Sālākhānian, Shāmlu's fellow prisoner for a time, who preferred to die under SAVAK torture rather than divulge the names of his friends.
